And just like that 2020 is almost over… It feels like this year has gone extremely fast and slow at the same time.
The end of 2020 is particularly special because our first Block Model graduates received their bachelor degrees, having studied exclusively in Block Mode since 2018 – a first in Australia.
At the start of March 2020, when COVID-19 truly hit Australia, universities were faced with many challenges to overcome, especially how to move their teaching online.
The VU Way and the Block Model helped us prepare for the unforeseeable challenges this year. With existing high-quality online spaces and intimate small class sizes, VU could quickly offer students a connected, online experience in which they not only survived but thrived.
We want to take a moment to show appreciation and celebrate our incredible staff at VU for making that transition possible.
Watch the video to find out more about how the VU Block Model has benefited VU students, staff and the university as a whole (3 min).
Last but not least we would also like to take a moment to say goodbye to our Vice-Chancellor Peter Dawkins who is now retiring. Thanks for your amazing contribution to VU over the last decade!
We also want to welcome VU’s new Vice-Chancellor and President, Professor Adam Shoemaker.
2020 has been a tough year for many of us but we got through it and we are optimistic about what 2021 will bring for us.
Merry Christmas & Happy New Year from the ConnectEd team!
